This is a book about the hopes and dreams of the duo Akdong Musician, once just regular kids named Chan-hyuk and Suhyun.

The book is a collection of music essays of Akmu, who were once regular kids with the names Chan-hyuk and Suhyun. It gives readers a glimpse of what¡¯s behind the music, wholesomeness and pure creativity of Akmu, which fans love so much.
People often think their childhood days in Mongolia are what account for the pure and wholesome feel of the duo. It is true that the vast nature of the Mongol plains have helped foster a kind of pure sound base for their music but that is just a small part of their music. Family life which comes with joy and pain is of course at the base of their creativity. Happiness and sadness shared with friends and neighbors also play an important role.
The book will show readers the duo¡¯s days of growth through the rigors and conflict of homeschooling, becoming teenagers, difficult years with parents in the course of finding their path, and their debut as a K-pop star. It is essentially a story of how two regular kids, Chan-hyuk and Suhyun gradually reached their dream and became Akdong Musician by gravitating towards their debut and moving through musical growth.
Their story is told from the bridge of teenage years, sometimes looking back at their childhood and sometimes looking towards adulthood. Some of us have passed the bridge, some of us are passing, and some will pass it one day, which is why the book will resonate with all readers. Perhaps it is the values of their missionary parents instilled in them that allowed them to share such an open and charming view of the world. They are successful in holding onto their one-of-a-kind universe of music and inviting the rest of the world into it.

Akdong Musician
Akmu is a Korean sibling duo who were raised in Mongolia, and they took first place in the auditiona program <K-pop Star 2> on SBS. With their missionary parents, they moved to Mongolia for 5 years, where they cultivated their unique and healthy musical sensitivity. After a year at MK school, they learned how to gain, nurture, persevere and wait through homeschooling. Their years in pastoral  Mongolia didn¡¯t allow them to do things that kids in other places could do, but this has led them to be thankful for friends, family and the value of everyday life.
They never had formal musical training, but taught themselves music by playing around with their guitar. Their lyrics have been praised for being unassuming and poetic.
